INAUGURATION OF THE GOVERNING COUNCIL/BOARD OF THE NURSING AND MIDWIFERY COUNCIL OF NIGERIA
The Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has inaugurated the Governing Council/Board of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria on Friday 28th April, 2017 at Barcelona Hotel, Blantyre Street, Wuse 11, Abuja.
The Board members are as follows;
1. Dr. Abosede Bola Ofi - Chairman
2. Dr. Edna Onwuchekwa The Head, Nursing Services FMOH - Member
3. Four (4) Heads of Nursing Services in a State Ministry of Health:
- Mrs. Chukwueke Victoria Chika (Imo State)
- Alhaji Saddiq Augi (Kebbi State)
- Mr Kaku Waya (Yobe State)
- Mrs. Ogundele Alice Igbekele (Ondo State)
4. Two (2) Heads of Nursing Services of the University Teaching Hospitals in the country:
- Dr. Patricia 0. Onianwa (UCH Ibadan, Oyo State)
- Alhaji Sani Ahmed Binji (UDUTH Sokoto, Sokoto State)
5. Two (2) Nurses from the Faculty of Nursing :
- Dr. Ajayi Dare (University of Jos, Plateau State)
- Dr Anthonia Chiweuba (University of Nigeria, Enugu, Enugu State)
6. Four (4) Tutors from Schools of Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatric and Public Health:
- Mrs Adetunji Aderonke Julienne (School of Nursing LUTH, Lagos State)
- Hajiya Manubia Abdul Jibril (School of Midwifery Kano, Kano State)
- Mr Okolu O. Saturday (School of Psychiatry Nursing, Benin city, Edo State)
- Dr. Janet Adah (College of Health Technology (Public Health Nursing) Calabar, Cross Rivers State)
7. Two (2) persons to represent Nursing and Midwifery Association:
- Comrade Adetunji Abdulrafiu (NANNM President)
- Comrade T.A. Shettima (NANNM Secretary)
8. One (1) person who is an adviser on Secondary Education from Federal Ministry of Education Member:

10. Two (2) persons to rep. universities offering degree programmes in nursing:
- Dr. Saleh N. Garba (Dept. of Nursing, ABU Zaria, Kaduna State)
- Dr. Ijeoma Oduenyi Ihekwaba (Dept. of Nursing University of Portharcourt, Rivers State)
11. One (1) registered Obstetric & Gynecologist:
- Prof. Bala Audu Member
